Hello, can anyone please compare these 2 lipo techniques and advise which one is better, less traumatic, better results. I wanted to have HD lipo on my abs and flanks and tights. From my research it appears that Vaser is the better choose as is less traumatic and offers better and more precise results. However my doctor does not offer vaser so I am worried that the power assisted lipo won't give me as good result. I am not overweight, jut have some stubborn fat around my belly and flanks.

Answer: Comparing Liposuction Equipment My best analogy is comparing these two stovesIf you compare electric stoves to gas stoves both of them have certain advantages.A gas stove is more responsive. The heat comes on immediately and it’s easy to adjust the amount of heat.Often electric strobes generate more energy and can boil a big pot of water faster than the equivalent gas stove.A wide gas burner isn’t good for a small diameter pot.For home use trying to cook a large pot of water and electric stove is going to be betterFor making an omelette and wanting direct control of the temperature instantaneously a gas stove is better.A good cook can make the same food identically on each stove.liposuction is pretty much exactly that way.I don’t use my mechanic based on the tools they use. In fact I don’t even ask. my mechanic also doesn’t brag about having tools that the competition doesn’tI don’t pick my contractor based on the tools they have eitherthere are only two variables that matter. They are your individual candidacy which pre-determines the potential improvement you can have from Liposuction and the skill of the surgeon.ultrasound assisted Liposuction or VASER has been around for 25 years. The ultrasound treatment is done before the fat is removed. The actual Liposuction with VASER is still traditional Liposuction or it can be done using PAL .P AL makes the actual liposuction cannula vibrate making the job easier for the surgeon making it slightly less traumatic on the patient. If I was to summarize the two forms of Liposuction I would say that VASER can allow surgeons to remove fat more quickly. It can easily lead to far worse outcomes in the worst botched cases I see are usually done using VASER.The equipment didn’t budge the patients but the aggressive nature of it in the hands of a surgeon who didn’t know what they were doing lead to something really bad. It’s a bit like giving a Porsche turbo to a 15-year-old with a learners permit.P AL is nice and gentle on the patient and on the surgeon. That’s what I use and I have the choice of any equipment I want. I sometimes do Liposuction 10 or 12 hours a day. I don’t think I could do as much work without my PALI can deliver the same results with any equipment. I first started using VESER in 1998. It was pretty new at that time.It pretty quickly fell out of favor but has had a resurgence With the marketing of a term high definition body contouring by a powerful self promoter from Columbia named Alfredo Hoyos. He’s a good plastic surgeon but is a far better self promoter.People take his course Then become self proclaimed experts. This includes providers who aren’t even plastic surgeons.please please please search long and hard for the most talented plastic surgeon in your area who is enthusiastic about Liposuction and has done thousands of cases And has hundreds of before and after pictures to prove it.A fair number of plastic surgeons don’t really like doing Liposuction. Are used to be one of them and my results were pretty mediocre. They were average compared to all my colleagues but compared to where I am today they were somewhat laughable.About 10 years ago I picked up a special interest in doing a week Liposuction and begin focusing my career exclusively towards Liposuction and fat transfer procedures.I know only do these two procedures and have given up all other plastic surgery work.To date I have done over 7000 Liposuction procedures and perform about 400 per year. From first-hand experience I can tell you that experience makes an enormous difference. So does having inherent skill and being committed to mastering this fairly difficult procedure. Basically Liposuction is probably the easiest procedure of anything ever done. You make a hole and suck out fat.The opposite is also true. Providers who can consistently deliver high-quality results and consistently predict exactly who is going to get what results are extremely talented and have spent years learning those skills. These are the providers you’re looking for.The best providers are never going to brag about how great their equipment is.They often don’t have the most number of reviews. The best providers usually never pay for advertising and generally don’t spend much effort on social media. They all have very limited numbers of negative reviews and reviews written by patients who actually had surgery consistently talking about their experience and the character of the provider.Unmanipulated reviews will have equal distributions and all the various Dr. review websites including vitals, rate MD, health grades, yelp and real self.how does a provider have 700 reviews on real self but only 13 on vitals.com?I think you can connect the dots. The best way to wear sure you’re in the hands of the best provider is to interview lots of us.schedule a minimum of five in person consultations and continue having more until you know for sure the provider you’re meeting with has the criteria I’ve explained or that you feel comfortable with.no excuses for not having albums and albums full of before and after pictures.no bragging about some super Duper technologylook for people who are ethical and are serving your interests first and foremost.look for providers who tell you the truth and tell you that you’re not gonna have good results if you’re not a good candidate.do you think the person you’re meeting with would be good taking care of your parents or do you think they would do a good job selling a car?they are very talented surgeons who are charming and good at sales. There are excellent surgeons who have terrible bedside manners.we all know when we meet a quality provider. The reviews will reflect the patients before you personal experience if they were written honestly.Be a little careful when reviewing before and after pictures. All pictures need to show arms being in the same position. If you can’t see the arms and the after picture in the picture it was cropped with the arms stretched up above their head. If it looks like the patient is sucking in their abdomen and the after picture then they probably are. Most plastic surgeons do a fine job at Liposuction and deliver high-quality work some are better than others.it is never because of the equipment they use.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
