Hello,Curious if this is a normal side effect... Essentially I have been putting on what appears to be fluid around my mid-section post procedure of my first treatment with MiraDry. The swelling started around my pecs and chest first but now appears to be spreading to the gut region. I am lean with low body fat so it is very noticeable for me and a little scary. Should I be concerned?
Answer: All the swelling is normal and will subside The miraDry® system eliminates the underarm sweat glands, and the sweat glands don’t grow back after treatment. This results in a dramatic and lasting reduction of embarrassing underarm sweat. In a clinical study, patients experienced an average of 82% reduction in underarm sweat. You should notice a reduction in sweat immediately after a single miraDry® treatment. As with any medical procedure, results will vary by person. 80% of our patients need only one treatment. Secondary effects include underarm hair and odor reduction as well as temporary swelling that may travel down the flanks. Ask your physician if this procedure is right for you.

Answer: Pectoral area swelling after miraDry Although unusual, localized swelling can occur in the axilla and similarly in the pectoral area. I have never seen it extend to the abdomen in over 600 cases that I have done. It shoudl go away. Take some bioflavonoids as they will reduce tissue edema and lymphedema that is localized to the area. Swell-X is a good product.

Answer: Swelling after miraDry Swelling is the most common side effects of miraDry. The swelling may travel down your trunk from your underarm area to diffuse out. In the next few days you should see this start to resolve and you will be thrilled about the results as most patients are. If it does not start to resolve or increases schedule a follow up with your physician.Best of luck!SS
