I got juvederm ultra plus in the back of both of my cheeks for volume loss and radiesse around my mouth yesterday. The injections were done by an experienced dr. My right cheek and the area around my mouth feel fine. However, I got a somewhat larger bruise on my left cheek which got very swollen. Even parts of my temple area (which was NOT treated) are swollen. I understand that some swelling is normal but my concern is that it feels really hot. Could this be a sign of an infection?

Answer: Swelling and heat after Juvederm injections.
Thank you for your question. Avoid ASA products, ibuprofen and alcohol for a week prior to injections to reduce bruising. Apply traumeel ointment to the bruise or take arnica montana tablets to help resolve bruises. All the best,
I wouldn't do it. What if you have a complication with the Juvederm like a blockage of a blood vessel or an infection. Too close together for my comfort. Nothing is simple in medicine. Something can always go wrong.
