Sutures left behind - would it be possible to revise this again? (Photo)

Question

I had a breast reduction done Sept 2022 which resulted in hypertrophic/keloid scarring. I had a scar revision surgery April 2024 where they used blue removable stitches. Twice some stitches have been left behind, causing the skin to break or become spider veined and a red mark, my surgeon doesn’t know. The surgeon has had to cut out the overgrown stitches (9+ weeks and 14+ weeks). Would it be possible to revise this again since new scars and irritation has formed with the forgotten stitches?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Thank you for the question. 
Based on your photos, it does appear that your have unfavorable scarring and contour irregularities in the lower portion of the breasts.
There is a breast reduction revision technique that can help correct unfavorable scarring by removing the old scars and creating new finger scars without contour deformity. 
I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in Breast Reduction and Breast Revision surgeries to further discuss your options, specific techniques, concerns and expectations. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

At this time, I recommend redoing the breast lift using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery.

Yes it appears you would benefit from a scar revision.  It is best to wait at least a year from your last revision to allow the area to heal and mature.  In the meantime you may consider other scar treatments such as lasers to improve the appearance of the scars.

With revision, you still my make hypertrophic scars again. Perhaps try micro-needling and see if the scars will improve.
