Hello! I'm a 5'7" 142 lb 52 y/o peri-meno woman, I had a breast reduction at age 29. At the time, my breasts were a very heavy and pendular 36DD/DDD. I was reduced to a large C/small D. The Dr. apparently did largely a lift + a small reduction (more skin than tissue removal). And I was happy! Now, (after proper fittings) I wear a 32/34 F. And I'm back to shoulder pain, neck pain, etc. But I'm also amidst severe hot flashes, fighting meno weight, etc. Should I wait?
Answer: Breast reduction Dear studiocitygal, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Revision reduction I think you would benefit from another reduction. You will have better proportion, lift and shape with better symmetry and will meet your expectations. Thank you.

Answer: Timing of Breast Reduction You are a great candidate for a redo-reduction! I would love to say that a breast reduction is a “one and done” procedure, but unfortunately changes in weight, hormones, pregnancy, etc can change the appearance and size of your breasts over time. I don’t see reason to wait to have this done, unless you are expecting a significant shift in weight (ie, weight loss). Peri-menopause can be a tough time for women and body composition changes that come with it. If you’ve had a weight gain, I recommend waiting until your weight has stabilized and ideally until you’re at a goal weight. If you do proceed and have the surgery now, just be aware that weight loss after a breast reduction can result in a further reduction of breast size and some laxity of the skin. I do utilize an absorbable mesh whenever doing a breast reduction to create an internal support bra to maintain the shape and minimize changes to the breast over time. I want to add that your 23 year old results overall look great with such minimal scarring! Best of luck in you peri-menopausal and aesthetic journey!

Answer: Breast Bet If you are uncomfortable in your back and neck, there is no reason to wait longer for a secondary Breast Reduction. After that much time, almost any technique may be safely used. Do speak with your GYN about HRT, and make a plan surrounding the procedure.

Answer: Is a second breast reduction safe? It looks like you had a beautiful breast reduction and you appear to be a good candidate for another one. I would not allow about your perimenopausal symptoms to stop you if you are experiencing back and neck pain and your breasts have become a burden I would suggest proceeding with a breast reduction now.
