Hi I had a little double chin for which my injector injected 1 session, after which he said he would put filler to contour my jawline . But it’s been more than a month now my under chin looks way worse than it was initially. When I went back to him, he said to just massage with a roller and we might not need filler I think he is just trying to avoid the accountability, what should I do at this stage ? I looked better before

Answer: Kybella I question if you are a good candidate for this treatment in the first place. To Megan assessment of someone’s face we need to see quality pictures. The lower 1/3 the face is always judged in relationship to the rest of the face. My best guess is that the primary issue is based on a mandible that is small in relationship to your maxilla and this causes Your issues with a double chin. Liposuction is the gold standard when excess subcutaneous fat is the problem. It’s difficult to appreciate any change at all from the two pictures included. Was your provider a plastic surgeon? Patient being left disappointed after these treatments is not that uncommon. I’m not sure you were a good candidate for the procedure in the first place. This treatment tends to be inconsistent and often under delivers. Patients should recognize that permanent treatments are not be easily reversible and there is always inherent uncertainty when attempting to remove fat with injections. To get an accurate assessment and better understanding of treatment options I suggest having in person consultations with senior board-certified, plastic surgeons or facial plastic surgeons in your community. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD.
