Is a stuffy nose (often) 1 year, plus 3 months post Rhinoplasty normal?

Typically, most swelling should subside by the six month mark. One year and three months should be enough time for your swelling to be done. This may be a different problem such as allergies which in that case you can see your doctor and he can better diagnose what the problem may be. You can also contact your facial plastic surgeon just to be sure that you have healed properly.

Dear Advice101, It is important when doing rhinoplasty to address both the function and aesthetics of the nose. While a patient may have little to no breathing problems prior to surgery if the inside of the nose is not addressed then they may develop problems after the nose has been thinned and reduced. When I perform rhinoplasty surgery I always address the septum and turbinates if needed to help ensure my patients have good function as well as beautiful aesthetics.
