I was referred to Dr Honrado by multiple people and I understand why! His office is easy to communicate and schedule with and he is an AMAZING doctor. I received Botox injections as well as lip filler and he did an incredible job of making me look natural yet noticeably more facially balanced and rested. I also have a really strong vasovagal response and he was so in-tune with how I was doing and even took a long break, reclined me back so I could get more blood flow to my head and chatted with me until I started to feel better. He was so understanding. Thank you Dr Honrado!
Lax neck skin, saggy & jowly - I looked old and worn out. Dr. Honrado performed the procedure after carefully explaining everything. It was smooth and painless and other than a minimal amount of swelling, I never experienced any negative side effects. The swelling was gone in a few days and after that it was just waiting for results. In my case it was six months before people started telling me how good I looked and even I, my worst critic, could see major improvement. I am very happy with Thermitight. I absolutely recommend it and Dr. Honrado.
I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Honrado and his staff. I recently had two IPL treatments for sun damage to my face, neck & chest and am very happy with the results. I'm 50, fair/thin-skinned with mild/moderate sun damage & brown spots, and after my first IPL treatment most of the brown spots were gone and my skin texture noticeably improved. Just had my second treatment and don't think I'll need any more for awhile! Dr. Honrado is so nice, attentive, professional and accommodating, and the staff up front and nurses are equally nice. I plan to return in a few months for Ulthera and Therismooth for tightening of my neck, eyes and cheek area. Pricing is also super reasonable, especially when compared to many other A list docs in LA.
I was referred to Dr. Honrado by a friend and former model who had just done her eyes and ThermiSmooth and the results were remarkably natural, yet effective in solving her lids drooping and other facial sagging. I had a consultation with the doctor and found his genuine warmth and professional demeanor very comforting and his recommendation of ThermiTight for my jowls and double chin. The day of the procedure, the office staff, medical staff along with Dr. Honrado made any nerves or trepidation I had go away. The procedure itself was a bit uncomfortable/painful in that I experienced some stinging/pinching. This is caused by the heat (radio frequency) in the areas being addressed. The results are great! I absolutely would do it again today knowing what results I have gotten over the past six months. The swelling and some discomfort went away within a week, but I do recommend taking some down time since the swelling it is noticeable, and you look a bit silly with chipmunk cheeks. My recent visit for some Botox and filler with Dr. Honrado confirmed both our satisfaction with the (evolving) results. (See for yourself to determine if your expectations are in line with mine and others, because ultimately it is your face.) :-) Lastly, my confidence in this area of my face is very positive. I no longer feel like I'm older or heavier than I am. My friends and family all comment on the noticeable improvement. I definitely recommend Dr. Honrado and this method to improve the lower face elasticity.
I had a Rhinoplasty/ Septoplasty procedure in October 2014 performed by Dr Mani Zadeh and Dr Calo Honrado. In February 2015, my standard poodle bolted while we were chatting with a labradoodle and his people, resulting in me falling face down on the asphalt, and rebreaking my nose! Dr Honrado operated again, this time as a closed surgery. I find it remarkable that this amazing result could be achieved after such trauma. Dr Honrado has "magic hands", and is able to focus his energy to make what would appear impossible a reality. This surgeon is really a Healer, as well as a lovely man...
Over a prolonged period Dr. Honrado performed Ulthera, Thermi, Fillers and Botox procedures to improve my appearance. Dr. Honrado is very strategic with the procedures and performs them more like a healer and a sculptor. The results were amazing and few days ago I felt completed to share this email with him… Hi Dr. Honrado... Thank you again for the Thermi250 treatment... I am sure it will be as effective as everything I did with you so far. I am on a flight to Chicago... Have to share something with you.... I parked myself tonight in my seat and started with the usual last preparations before turning all electronic devices off and dreading the wait until we hit 10,000 feet, and the internet access is turned on. The woman next to me engaged in a conversation... and I thought ... what the heck... I have nothing to do next 20 minutes.... so we chatted. She is a professor at Kellogg School of Business... obviously sharp lady... we talked about each other backgrounds and at one point she suggested that I become active in YPO (Young Presidents Organization...) I was shocked with the suggestion because the members are mandated to be younger than 40. The woman realized that I was stunned, so she commented - "... oh you will be accepted...you seem to be capable and successful young woman... plus you are ways away from 40." I know she meant it... my best compliment in the last five years... LOL ....SO THANK YOU Dr. Honrado..... For everything you do.....And for the artist that you are! Truly yours, Ms 49
I am beyond excited and thrilled about the ThermiRF procedure I had, even though I am only one week out. I am in that 'in between' place - not nearly ready for a facelift (financially or psychologically!) yet I am in my mid-40's and really dealing my under-chin sag and jowls. I have a 3 and 7 year old and surgery on my face, is simply not an option or even a consideration at this point. However, no filler or freezers can really deal with this tricky body/face issue. Dr. Honrado (Century City, AMAZING) is one of the few doctors to have gotten hold of this cutting edge and new minimally invasive device. Basically in less than 30 minutes, and without flinching or even wincing, my saggy skin was addressed with a radio frequency that heats the tissue, with the result over time being lifted and tightened skin. Before I did it, I researched it heavily and studied the literature, technology, before/afters - I am extremely neurotic with this stuff and I can't imagine what I would do if anything went wrong. Of course, doctor choice came first, and that was a no-brainer. Dr. Honrado is a top facial plastic surgeon in town and he has high ratings and comes highly recommended from some top people. I was convinced this was the way to go after doing a ton of research about various options. I took a pain killer and after a few injections of lidocaine (?) - numbing solution - the dr used the super thin needle thing - and i was finished, probably, face and neck, in 25 minutes? It was so easy, I seriously thought we hadn't really begun yet. I was super chipmunk puffy, took steroids for a few days and my husband sang the theme song from Alvin and the Chipmunks for a few days which was pretty hilarious. A week later I am 90% back to normal. Oh, it was a tad sore. But not even Advil worthy sore. I slept a bit elevated the first night - but that was it. Now I wait a few weeks to allow the procedure to take affect - but so far, in terms of the procedure, downtime, looking for some, ANY, minimally invasive way to target this tricky skin that needs lift and tightening, I am over the moon about ThermiRF. I have seen it called Thermi Gen, or ThermiRase (it does what Botox does, for the nerves, but without the botulism) ....and it has a few different ways it can be used. It's the next frontier in this stuff and I am just thrilled to have discovered a safe, sound, board certified top Bev Hills plastic doctor who is top notch with it!!! Stay tuned!! Updated on 20 Feb 2014: Just an update, post procedure, Thermi RF, three months. It's amazing. Real. Works. All I have to say. Will head to the office for an after photo so I can post both. Stellar.
Well, it finally happened!! After about 2 years I've found the Doctor! I went to several places including WAVE!! Dr. Honrado took his time and explain the process. I did not feel rushed at all!! He's down to earth not pushy and not put off when you tell him you can't afford something. He'll help you to find an acceptable alternative (only if you want it)!! just flat out really like the guy!! It's a friendly office too! Not at all what you would expect in Century City! I'm very excited to come back and report my experience!! Updated on 4 Apr 2013: Well, I had my appointment! They invited my husband to come in and sit with me! It was really comforting to have him there. The doctor was great and answered all of our never ending questions. I was terrified because I expected to be in a great deal of pain. I wasn't. The doctor gave me half of a pain pill and I was fine. Hes was very considerate and kept asking how I felt. When it was over my husband said he could tell that the Jowls were gone and my neck looks better. As you can see from the picture there is a little swelling. I feel it's only going to get better in time. I think it's VERY important to select the person that does this for you carefully! Look at their track record before you commit! I'll update my post as time goes on! It's hard for me to take side pictures of myself but at some point I will post some. Updated on 11 Apr 2013: I'm noticing improvements! Excited for a few more weeks to go by!! Updated on 16 Apr 2013: Soooooo, It's the 2 week mark and swelling and Bruising is starting to go away! I've taken a front and side picture and added it to this site! I'm starting to notice that my jaw has more definition and the skin isn't as loose and lax as it was it the beginning!! Also, around my mouth is smoother too! Will post again soon!! I also noticed that I'm wearing the exact same shirt as I was in my before pictures!! That cracked me up! Updated on 3 Jun 2013: Updated on 3 Jun 2013: Updated on 28 Jun 2013: I think It's still improving a bit! I'm posting a picture without make up!!
I had Ulthera done yesterday on cheek area after have Restylane dissolved there and wanting to build collagen (cheek deflated after hyaluronidase). I know it has been only one day out, but I can definitely see a difference there. The doctor did several passes over the problem area. It did hurt. I took half a Vicodin, and managed through. The doctor talked to me the entire time, which helped get my mind off of the pain. I plan on having my eyes done, too (after swelling from hyaluronidase completely dissipates). Updated on 14 Aug 2012: Wanted to note that Dr. Hornado did not inject the Restylane or hyaluronidase. I came to him to fix my problem. Updated on 10 Sep 2012: It has now been four weeks since my treatment and I can definiitely tell a difference in the firmness of my skin. Overall, skin looks healthier. I had Ulthera on my eyes a week ago and have seen a noticeable difference thus far. The eyes really hurt, but I opted for a very aggressive treatment there. Thankfully, the eyes only took a couple of minutes. Overall, I am really surprised at how well my skin has responded. Updated on 3 Oct 2012: It has been 7 weeks since I have my cheeks treated and 1 month since my eyes were treated. I see a definite difference in my cheeks (Iam 37)- firmer, lifted, healthier-looking. I have noticed slight improvement under eyes. I still have a strange sensation in my face and under eyes. It does not hurt, but it is like I can feel the healing process taking place. So far, I am still satisfied with the procedure. Updated on 29 Oct 2012: It hs been almost 3 months since getting Ulthera done on cheeks. Results were great and still going strong. It does seem to be getting incrementally better, but I saw the most improvement within the first few weeks. I had the area below my eyes done two months ago, and have not seen as much improvement there. I don't think that tissue responds as well.
I went to Dr. Honrado to have Juvederm and Botox because I wanted to look more youthful and refreshed. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Honrado and I highly recommend him. He was so caring and gentle not to mention he's talented at what he does! He was a really good listener and his office staff were friendly which is something that's always important to me. After I got Juvederm and Botox I now look so much more rested and people keep complimenting me. I'm very happy with the results and his prices were very reasonable.
Thermi is a great way to tighten the skin and the underlying tissue. I have had this device for some time now and it does a great job for refining and tightening. The nice thing about the machine is that we can control the temperature of the probe to allow for skin tightening, but we can also alter the temperature to address the underlying fat.
Yes, it is possible. I have seen swelling last from a day or two to about 10 days. Heat can certainly help but just give it time and it will resolve.
Sometimes the nerves around the area that has been treated can be bruised from the treatment. This can cause the issues you have mentioned. While this is not common, it will take some time for the nerve to function properly. Please see your physician if you have any specific questions.
I understand the concern with persistent swelling after a Thermi procedure. Depending on the physician and how much was done, I have seen swelling last upwards of 10 days. Sometimes, I will occasionally place patients on a short course of steroids to help. But, if you still have concerns, I recommend touching base with the physician who performed your procedure. He/She may want to take a look to ensure you are healing properly.
I am in agreement with what other physicians have recommended. I would proceed with the jaw surgery first then determine what else needs to be done if necessary. ThermiTight can also be used to address excess fat so it may be an option. I am personally not a fan of buccal fat pad removal as you will need this fullness in that area as you age.
