Use of any silicone-based scar treatment is advisable and for sutured surgical scars, I recommend use after one month. Application of a gel to a wound immediately after suture removal can lead to wound dehiscence which is counterproductive to your goals. It is only applied to skin incisions. I don't see the need to purchase one brand over another and you might find less expensive silicone gels if you shop around.
Silicone-based gel or cream is very useful for scars post surgery. It not only helps speed up the recovery of scars. It will help aid the colour of the scar to lighten and create a water-resistant steal. We do use stratamed and strataderm in my practice. Stratamed for the first 2 weeks and then stratderm morning and night for as long as the patient likes post op. Ideally, I would like my patients to use for at least 4 months post-surgery.
There is nothing bad about use scar creams after aesthetic operations. They sometimes cause allergy and need to be stopped. Besides that, to my experience scar creams do not help too much on face. The scar will heal good if it will. The scar will heal bad if it will. But you can use a scar cream, yes.
