Using Botox to lower eyebrows? (Photo)

Question

Is it possible to drop the central and inner eyebrows only (not the lateral part) in order to create a more masculine looking brow using Botox? Would going from an eyebrow tilt in picture one to something resembling picture two be possible?

Thank you for your question and photos. It is possible to inject Botox into particular muscles around the brows to provide subtle lift without surgery. A very small needle is used for targeted administration, producing results that can last for approximately 3-4 months in most patients.

You should relay your concerns to your plastic surgeon prior to being injected. It is very possible to achieve this look with Botox alone by concentrating on the procerus, corrugators and central frontalis muscle. Injecting these muscles will drop the central brows but will not touch the lateral brows. Best of luck!

Hi there! Botox can be used to flatten an accentuated brow. Starting toward the lateral side would be a safe point. The problem with going toward the middle is migration of the Botox which could cause ptosis. Although recovery is expected and the outcome is rare, eyelid drooping can be very bothersome. I would start with a small number of units staying safe and adjust from there. Hope that is useful to you!

Botox is a muscle paralytic. It works to decrease the movement of the underlying muscle. The muscle that raises the eyebrow is the frontalis, which also contributes to the horizontal lines you may see across your forehead. It does work mainly on the central and medial brow, so having botox to the frontalis may help drop the brow some. However, the best way to talk about your goals and options would be to see a board eligible/board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your concerns.

Yes, Botox can be used to lower the brows.  The treatment is done in the office with final results seen after 14 days.  The brow will gradually return to normal after approximately 3 to 4 months.  See an expert injector near you for treatment.
