Probably not. You should have a good physical exam during your consultation to make sure that everything in the area is soft (no hard scar tissue). You would also likely be given some antibiotics to take before and after surgery to decrease the risk of any issues with the implants. Best of luck!! I recommend consultation with a plastic surgeon to be measured and discuss your goals. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. You should also be aware that results of surgery can change in the future with significant weight change and/or stretching of skin from the milk of pregnancy. Hello, thank you for your question. There are numerous methods that can be employed pre-operatively to minimize the risk of infection. Prophylactic antibiotics are usually given immediately prior to your surgery to further reduce the risk of infection. During surgery, the use of triple antibiotic irrigation is done to minimize infection and capsular contracture. Experienced breast surgeons will also minimize the handling of the breast implants to reduce the risk of contamination. After your surgery, a close follow up of the incision site with prompt antibiotic treatment if signs of infection appear is important. Even with all these measures, there is no 100% guarantee that an infection won't happen. I recommend you always to go with a board certified plastic surgeon.

as long as you don't have an active infection, you should be fine. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Plenty of time has passed. You should be fine to get implants. Oral antibiotics could be used as extra caution, but probably not necessary.

Thank you for sharing your question. It will not hinder your ability to get implants but certain antibiotics and soaps should be used to help minimize your risk as a MRSA carrier.

Since your nipple is pierced, it will tend to collect more bacteria than an unpierced nipple. However, you still should be able to have a breast augmentation.

Hello and thank you for your question . Many of our patient's have a history of staph infection. We have them follow a preventative protocol prior to surgery which is antibiotics and nasal swabs w an antibiotic .

Some patients have sub clinical levels of MRSA long after the initial infection and, if this is the case, I would not recommend implants. Diagnostic testing can be performed to verify. If you do continue to have MRSA, it could seed your implants and be highly problematic.
