4 years post-op - I hit my nose tip hard and now I have a bit a swelling and pain, should I be worried? (Photos)

I slipped and fell into the wall by accident and hit my nose in the wall (from the front). I hit my nose tip hard and it was hurt like 5 minutes. Iam an 4 years after rhinoplasty (I had cartilage and DCF with the tip raised). There is no bleeding, just a bit swollen around my nose tip, a little bit pain. Should I worry about that?

Thank you for your question. At 4 years out, your nose is completely healed and you can treat it like normal essentially. So a small bump may cause some bruising or swelling, but shouldn't affect the overall shape or structure of the nose. Of course more severe trauma could change the nose, but based on your story, I doubt there will be any permanent damage. Hope that helps, and I'm sure you'll feel better soon!

Hi and welcome to our forum!
Following rhinoplasty, the nose is slightly more delicate due to healing by fibrous union of the bones rather than by bony union. The extent of the trauma dictates your action. You describe swelling and pain. A visit to your plastic surgeon may be a good idea.
