I have medium lips but wanted a fuller pouty look so my med spa injected restalyne defyne. After I saw a plastic surgeon for an unrelated procedure he said restalyne defyne shouldn’t be injected into lips, is this true? (whenever he injected my lips a year ago with juvederm I saw zero difference for $750)
Answer: Restylane defyne and refyne are runny fillers formulated to complete with runny Allergan products. Inexperienced injectors (an injectors who should know better) blindly follow manufactures suggests and use these products because they are told by the company representative that these products are good for lips. They are not good for lips. These are low G prime fillers are runny. That means they do not stay where they are put. They tend to drift. This is was causes saugage shaped lips and lip shelfs. Low G prime fillers are pushed because they are called "smooth." The lumps and bumps take care of themselves because the product diffuses aways from the site of injection. That is viewed as a benefit to the injector but it leads to a mediocre treatment result. To get the most effective treatment, one needs to use a high G prime filler that holds where it is placed. However that requires skill.

Answer: Lip Augmentation Hi @Girl85257! Yes, Restylane Defyne is safe to inject in the lips, but it will not offer a lot of volume. If you want a fuller pouty look, I recommend Restylane Kysse. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Kysse is a preferable choice Thank you for your question! Restylane Defyne can be used in the lips, but it is not specifically intended for that area (it’s more commonly used in nasolabial folds). Restylane Kysse is a preferable choice since it is specifically FDA-approved for the lip area and can last up to a year, which is longer than many other fillers used in this area. Since this area is very sensitive, it’s important to book your appointment with an experienced provider who has experience performing this treatment in a way that creates the most natural-looking results.
