Why did my doctor choose Restylane Defyne for my cheeks? (photo)

I had an appointment yesterday and got filler in my cheeks. My goal was to get high defined cheeks and the doctor chose to use restylane defyne. Wondering why she used that opposed to Lyft. I’m 18

That's something you'll have to discuss with your doctor. Different doctors have different preferences of fillers for certain areas. I personally like Lyft, Voluma, and Sculptra. Though, Defyne can also be an appropriate choice in younger patients with minimal, if any, volume loss. Best wishes.

Thank you for your question.  Restylane Defyne is a great option for the cheek area.  Defyne is indicated to last a bit longer then Lyfte and it is similar.  They are both Hylauronic Acid Filler and both help with definition.  Each injector will have their own preference in regards to what filler to use where.

Thank you for your question. There is no single filler that tends to work best in any particular area. While Lyft is a good choice for the cheeks, many injectors also use Voluma, Defyne, or other products. In your case, I would wait two weeks to see whether you are satisfied with your results. If you would like additional filler at that point, a follow-up appointment could be scheduled. Always work with an experienced, certified injector to ensure the best possible results from your treatments.

Without knowing the techniques used by your injector and not having Before and After photos, it would be difficult to determine what had happened with your results. Restylane Defyne is a great, flexible product that can be used in many areas of the face, including cheeks. For more structure in the cheeks, there are other stronger products that can uphold this look. 
It's very important to establish your goals with your injector and ensure that they can deliver your results. I recommend that you seek consultation with an experienced and knowledgeable injector.
