Anytime, however you may be uncomfortable with a blocked nose and swollen eyes within the first 5 days. As long as you are not driving, then there is no medical concern. Regards, Dr Steve Merten, Sydney, Australia

4 hour drive after rhinoplasty

Hi Nagaxx,

It is generally safe to travel 4-hours as a passenger in a car, even just a day after rhinoplasty, but it is also still highly recommended to stay close (in case there is any concern regarding recovery) for about a day or 2, because travelling can be quite uncomfortable and we encourage rest as much as possible, following any kind of surgical procedure.

Thanks for sharing your question. Answers to this question will vary a bit. Generally, I ask that my patients stay close by (local) for about seven days after rhinoplasty. That way they may be seen quickly should any concerns, such as bleeding, pain, or other issues arise.
