URGENT- Extrusion from only ear cartilage in tip from rhinoplasty 2 yrs ago?! Should I go to the hospital? (photos)

Had tiplasty@Korea 2.4 yrs ago to get round project tip, correct slightly droopy tip, septal deviation; closed rhino cut in RIGHT nostril, ear cartilage and alloderm in tip (unsure if used septal). Unhappy since tip now smaller, pointier, upturned; altho Dr. said only added into nose, not remove anything. TODAY I felt my LEFT nostril runny, to my horror, theres a RED OPEN RIP WOUND -extrusion possible after 2.4yr? HOW URGENT do I need to act? Do/should I wait till I heal before I do revision?

Dear Gorgeousified,Thank you for your question. The question you ask is a very reasonable one and the short answer is that you should seek medical advice as soon as you can, preferably from the provider who performed your surgery. Extrusion of an implant can happen, but the AlloDerm that you had placed should be able to integrate into normal tissue and prevent such an event.  If there is other foreign material in the nasal tip, then extrusion can happen at any point in your life - often occurring after nasal trauma.  My best,James M. Ridgway, M.D., FACS
