A rhinoplasty specialist will be able to comprehensively address the issues you have with your nose. One thing to keep in mind though is that there is a limitation to the amount of tip refinement you can achieve (how small/narrow) because of the thickness of your skin. While there are a variety of approaches and techniques employed by various surgeons, it is up to you to do your due diligence to find a rhinoplasty specialist experienced in Asian rhinoplasty in order to achieve the best results possible. Using autologous grafts (tissue and cartilage from your own body) will provide the safest and most permanent results.Consult with 2-3 of these surgeons in person and determine your comfort level with their approach, demeanor, and before and after results. Good luck.
It is hard to assess your nose completely without a side view a view from the floor looking up (to look at the nostrils shape and skin tip width). Like people of the various geographic regions of the world , there are some commonalities found within those groups and this is due to anthropology and the genetics of the region. To me a patient's features are individual since a person's ethnicity is not always so well defined and peoples within a region can have real variability in features. As a surgeon I address a patient's appearance and how they would like it different as what changes in which structures will lead to the changes that the patient wants. Minimal invasive to me is "filler rhinoplasty" and there is a steep learning curve to that technique. If you go that route make sure they are skilled in it and someone who operates on the nose will more likely have a better appreciation of where they are putting the filler and how it might change the nose.
You won't be able to sharpen and narrow your nose without surgery. Asian noses tend to have:Weak bridge or dorsumBulbous tipWide nostrilsThick SkinEach ethnicity has its own cultural ideas of beauty that must be appreciated and enhanced with any plastic surgery procedure that is performed. If you are interested in ethnic rhinoplasty that respects your cultural identity, please take the time to find a professional who has experience in this area. I hope this helps.
These goals can't be achieved non-surgically. Your concerns regarding your nose is not uncommon, especially for those of Asian descent. As a specialist in rhinoplasty surgery as it pertains to ethnic rhinoplasty, I can tell you that these are the most common issues I hear patients discuss with me regarding their reasons for wanting to alter the appearance of their nose while still maintaining their ethnic identity:Asian rhinoplasty patients discuss their dissatisfaction with the following: Flat nasal profileSlight nasal bridgeFlared nostrilsWide nasal tipPoor nasal tip strengthI employ specialized surgical techniques for Asian Rhinoplasty and my number one goal is to have a unified vision with my patient. I do not want to harm a patient's ethnic identity, however, I want to allow for each patient achieve the very best results they can and that occurs by having a highly personalized and customized surgical plan. I have over two decades of experience in facial plastic surgery and am able to preserve the ethnic characteristics of my patients while delivering the results they desire. When selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon, it is of the utmost importance that you choose a surgeon who is board certified in facial plastic surgery. Board certification matters. Especially, when you are considering ethnic rhinoplasty. You want your face and nose in the hands of an experienced and qualified surgeon. I am including a website link about Asian Rhinoplasty as well as video that discusses in detail the specifics of this procedure. I hope you find this information helpful. Please feel free to reach out to our New York City office if we can help answer any questions you might have in your decision making process.Sincerely,Philip J. Miller, MD, FACSDouble Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
I don't know of a good non surgical technique to give you the results that you desire. On the other hand surgery can help you obtain the results. As an artist student, from the LA County Museum of Art, I like to use advanced suturing techniques to narrow the nose. One can narrow the nasel bones, which would narrow the bridge of you nose without narrowing the height. You can also narrow the rims of your nose. I incorporate the FINNESSE technique which I invented. Bleeding, bruising and pain are minimal when compared to traditional techniques. I routinely do not pack the nose. It's not uncommon for patients to go out socializing ten days after surgery. I hope you find this information useful. For more information please watch the enclosed video.
Hi. Thank you for your question. As my other colleagues suggest, for your desired results you will need surgery as fillers will not refine your tip. You should schedule an appointment with an experienced Board Certified surgeon for a consultation. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for your inquiry. It appears from your photos that you would benefit from a rhinoplasty procedure that focuses on enhancing the nasal tip. In addition to creating a narrower shape, the tip can be projected slightly to eliminate the flattened look and create a more delicate contour. A...
Definitely consult with your surgeon. If an implant was used , it would not be good to pierce the implant since it is usually in the vicinity of the anterior membranous septum.
