I am a 19 year old female, C cup and have had "inverted nipples" since I can remember. They've never been an issue until I started getting intimate - more embarrassing for me. They're inverted but when it's cold they come out and still don't look like normal nipples, they look as if they are cracked. I've heard of getting them pierced but not 100% sure that will work as they are "cracked"

In my experience it does happen that one or both inverted nipples will fail the first attempt at repair however, there are multiple ways to fix this problem and a secondary repair is usually successful if needed. Breast feeding may be impossible after repair, so timing is important.
I would suggest waiting 1-2 years after puberty is complete. so probably 16-18 is about right. it's never too early to speak to a surgeon in order to get the best facts. Also I would suggest speaking to your parents if you are still living with them.
