Thank you for your question regarding having Botox at age 19. Yes, I believe 19 is a young age for Botox injection. Botox is usually injected for medical conditions and cosmetic reasons such as getting rid of forehead wrinkles, dimples around the chin, etc. Medical reasons to administer Botox are to paralyze muscles. Botox can be used for spasticity to decrease stomach mobility and lead to weight loss. Botox is also used to treat headaches. If you are considering Botox for just cosmetic reasons at age 19, I think it’s too early. Wait until you’re 21. Please seek an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon. Thank you for your question regarding having Botox at age 19. If you have any more questions regarding Botox, contact my plastic surgery office. Sincerely, Dr. Timothy Katzen
As long as you are over 18 years of age, you can receive any cosmetic procedure — if you are otherwise a good candidate for it. Botox at your age could be used to slim down the jawline, stop muscles from reinforcing wrinkles, smooth out fine lines around the eyes or forehead, raise or lower the brows, control sweating and/or control migraines. If any of these scenarios reflect your needs, please consult a board-certified dermatologist who has experience with Botox to find out if you are a good candidate for using this highly effective neuromodulator.
There is not an age someone should start botox. I always tell patients its whenever the wrinkles start to bug them. Some people are more expressive and tend to get deeper set lines at an early age. Botox can be used as a preventative so those lines don't become deeper and etched in the skin.
Everyone is genetically different. Some people have more facial expressions than others. So its hard to give an age to when you should start Botox. You could try it now and see how you like it. Botox results take up to 1-2 weeks and last up to 3-4 months in new areas of treatment. See an expert. Dr. Emer
Technically, 19 is not too young to start Botox. However, in my opinion you should refrain from doing any cosmetic treatments until you are older. I'm sure that you are a beautiful young lady that is not in need of any cosmetic treatments.
In recent years we are seeing more of shift in preventative Botox treatments rather than corrective. We are now seeing younger and younger patients from early 30's now to early 20's. Early Botox treatments can prevent lines from forming and maintain the integrity of the skin from a young age. Dr. Philip Solomon
Botox has many indications and some contraindications, but being 19 is not one of them. I suggest a formal consultation to identify your concerns and create a treatment plan.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO
Hi and thank you for your question! Assuming that you are considering Botox for cosmetic purposes, there is no age limit in adults for Botox, so as long as you have consulted an experienced cosmetic doctor and your doctor has determined that you are a candidate for Botox, your age shouldn't be a factor against that. I hope it helps and good luck!
Despite the recent trend toward "prejuvenation" with preventative BOTOX® among younger clients, 19 is still younger than I typically see. Starting BOTOX® earlier (say, in your mid to late 20s) can temporarily paralyze the muscles that can lead to dynamic wrinkles like crow's feet and frown lines. However, since the effects are temporary, you'll have to schedule ongoing maintenance treatments to keep up the results. That's really a process that's better to start a bit later in life. Best of luck to you.
There is no age to start doing Botox. If you have wrinkles in areas such as the forehead or around the eyes that bother you, and you are of age to consent, then Botox is both a safe and effective treatment option to make the area look better/more youthful/less angry, and to prevent wrinkles/lines from etching into the skin.
