Riding a moped (scooter) after breast augmentation?

It should be safe to ride your moped one month after breast augmentation surgery since the vibration is low compared to a motorcycle.

Thanks for your inquiry.  I'd suggest clearing all physical activities with your own PS since they know how well you're healing.  Most of my patients start resuming their normal appearance by about 4-6 weeks after surgery.

Great idea, if the weather is good go for it. Check with your doc. If everything is healing well usually 3 to 4 weeks after surgery you are good for most activities. Good luck....

Dear cloem, Typically we allow post operative breast augmentation patients to return to all activities 4 - 6 weeks after surgery. I would confirm that this matches the instructions given to you by your operating surgeon. There is a chance that even after getting the "ok" from your surgeon, the bouncing caused from operating the scooter could cause you some discomfort. If that occurs, listen to your body and hold off for another week or so. Good luck!

Typically you can resume this type of activity when you feel that you can handle the moped safely under a crisis situation (such as getting out of the way of a car that is trying to cut you off, or a similar circumstance) without hesitation or pain.  You must be off all narcotic pain medication or muscle relaxant type of medication, of course.I find that most women who go under the muscle cannot always handle a physically heavy load this early, so depending on how heavy and bulky or awkward the moped is, and how big you went, you could sprain the muscle and hurt for months.If you fall, all bets are off, so this doesn't seem smart, just yet, to me.To be sure, check with your surgeon to clear you for this activity.

I generally ask my patients to refrain from lifting more than 5-7 lbs for the first 6 weeks after surgery.  I see no reason why you can't ride your moped....probably safer than a big heavy harley :)  Have fun but take it easy.

At 4 weeks post surgery I allow my patients to resume all activities. Unless you are told otherwise by your PS then you should be able to resume this type of activity.
