Afterbreast implant surgery, I advise the patients to take one week off from work. At that point we take out their stitches and teach them the implantmassage technique. We suggest 5 times per day with the massage and no brafor one month. The patients may return to work, but may not engage in anystrenuous activity. At one month, the patients start to wear a soft cupbra with no underwire and can start low impact cardio. At two months theycan wear an underwire bra and engage in more strenuous physical activity. Breast massage continues forever, although only once per day.
I appreciate your question. Typically, my guideline is, the first week is the hardest. By the second week you feel better, at four weeks you feel 100% and at six weeks you can go back to complete normal routines and exercising. Four days after surgery, I would be careful as you are still at risk for bleeding. If you are taking any pain medication, I would not drink alcohol. With my 'Schwartz Rapid Recuperation' recovery, most of my patients are out to dinner the following evening. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. I think that returning to work depends upon your activity level. 5-7 days is a reasonable course of time to return to desk work. However, strenuous activity should be avoided for 6 weeks. Ask your surgeon for their advice.
It depends on what the nature of your job is. For example if you have an office job that requires no heavly lifting or strenuous activity then 5 days is sufficient. Your chosen surgeon is your best resource for information like this.
There are many different factors for an individuals recovery time. The number one factor is YOU! What is your lifestyle, do you have help at home, are you on your feet alot at work and at home? Do you have othere people in your care? These are jsut a few of the questions that you need to consider before going back to work. Most patients take 5-7 days to return to work with limitiations , meaning no heacy lifting for one month and no physical activity to ensure proper healing.
Thank you for your question. Typically, many of our patients find they can return to light office work one week after surgery. We recommend no lifting anything over 25lbs for the first 2-3 weeks.Best regards,Dr. Lane F. Smith, MDPlastic SurgeonLas Vegas, NV
Recovery from breast augmentation can vary depending on the individual and technique used. Typically when I perform a Cold'Subfascial Breast AUgmentation with a long acting locla anaesthetic called Xparel, patients do not have surgical pain and many never touch a pain pill. I have many patients who are ready for work in 3 days but I ask them to plan a five day recovery minimum to be safe. after five days my patients can do any activity that does not cause pain. I hope this helps! All the best,Rian A. Maercks M.D.
The answer depends on what you do. In my practice I permit patients to return to desk work as soon as they feel comfortable. Usually this is a couple of days to may be a week. More strenuous work would require a longer convalescence.
Thank you for your question. This really depends on your pain tolerance and what your line of work is. You must be completely off your narcotics before going back to work. Also there is no heavy lifting that you can be doing at 5 days after surgery. If you have a desk job, or don't do a lot of lifting or using your arms a lot, then you should be fine to go back at 5 days. Just listen to your body, you don't want to do too much too soon and cause any problems. If you would like more information regarding breast augmentation and the recovery process, you can download a free copy of my breast augmentation planner at ABetterBreast.com.
If you are not planning to lift heavy and you stay in a clean environment a few hours at work with modified activity should be OK. Please follow up with your doctor as these issues require the attention of a plastic surgeon.
Thanks for such an intersting question. In reality, your band size wont increase in relation with a breast augmentation. But, in many cases, according to the type of bra you use, you may show an increment in the size of the band. Wishing you luck,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol
Hard to say what it could be without examining it, but based on what you wrote, it could be a stitch or a spitting suture. Don't pick at it but go see your surgeon as she/he will be able to determine whether it is something that needs to be addressed immediately or will subside as you heal...
You do not actually have to be in possession of your documents. If you don't even know which manufacturer was used, that can be found out at surgery. Say you know nothing except the actual date of your surgery. You have surgery, the implants are removed. They have identifying...
