Hard lump near incision stitch after BA. Is it normal?

Hello, I had a BA done and I'm 2 weeks PO. I noticed a hard small lump near my stitches which is a crease incision. I barely started massaging this week. It's on my right boob and directly next to the end of the stitch. Thanks in advance!

More than likely this is a benign condition due to swelling. If you have concerns stop by your plastic surgeon's office and have him check.

A small lump along the incision at 2 weeks is probably just a dissolving suture that will likely clear up shortly.

this point in your recovery, it is common to feel the scar that surround the suture material.  This should settle down without much difficulty over the next 6 months.

Hard to say what it could be without examining it, but based on what you wrote, it could be a stitch or a spitting suture.  Don't pick at it but go see your surgeon as she/he will be able to determine whether it is something that needs to be addressed immediately or will subside as you heal.  ac

What you are describing sounds like a knot at the end of a running suture used to close the incision. Proper reassurance will come from your own surgeon, so give a call. All the best.

This could be as part of normal healing or abnormal.  It is normal to get what is a=called the "Collagen Ridge" of healing around 2-3 weeks after surgery and this is normal (it goes away several weeks later).  There could also be a small abscess, suture abscess, or stitch trying to spit out as well.  if there is any accompanying redness, that is more concerning and could represent an early infection.  With breast augmentation, especially, I find it best to see my patients with any concerns, no matter how small, because an infection, left unchecked, could result in the loss of a breast implant.  My suggestion is to see your surgeon sooner rather than later.

You may be feeling the scar tissue in the incision site or, perhaps, a stitch that is underneath the skin.  Massage ought to help this resolve, but understand that it can take several months for this to go away.  Sometimes the desolvable stitched that are under the skin can work their way to the surface.  If that happens, visit your surgeon ... He/she would simply clip and remove the "spitting stitch."Good luck!!
