Hello,Although you see a dent, what is really happening is that your right soft tissue envelope is in completely filled due to the implant sitting slightly higher on the chest wall relative to the left. You are fresh out from surgery and should not be concerned with this discrepancy. Please give it 6 months. Best of luck!
Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Cosmetic Breast Augmentation Specialist. You are only two days out after surgery and it is way too early to worry. The dent that you are describing is most likely secondary to normal postoperative swelling and should go away with time. Follow up with your plastic surgeon and try to stay patient and positive.I hope that helps! Best of Luck!Matthew J. Dear Leticia, Thanks for posting your picture. From observing your picture, it appears that you have indentation of the right lateral breast above the nipple . That condition can be due to muscle contraction or, not enough pocket dissection laterally. If it is due to muscle contraction, it will subside in few days , once the pain is gone, the muscle will relax and allow the implant to move laterally and fill up the indentation. If it is due to not enough lateral dissection of the pocket, you can start doing lateral implant displacement massage. That will stretch the tissue laterally and allow the implant to move laterally. If after 3-4 months of massage, no improvement occurs, you will need to have lateral capsulotomy (scar release) , to achieve that same goal. Discuss it with your surgeon and I am quite sure that he, or she, will be able to help you. If that is not happening, consider consulting with other experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of redo breasts augmentation in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent, symmetrical and attractive. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Thanks for your question and for including a photo. There is swelling from the surgery in the initial few weeks, and it takes a total of 3-6 months for the final shape of breast augmentation to be visible. It is understandable to be concerned, but it is too early to say.All the best.
Thank you for the question and photo. It is too early to say if this is what it will look like in 3-6 months. Normally it takes 3-6 months for implants settle. It is best to discuss with your board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Hi Leticia,It is very understood to have concerns early on after any surgery. Breast augmentation will takes weeks to months to reflect the final result. It is not uncommon to have some mild asymmetries right after surgery. Try to be patient and give it some time for the final result. I do encourage you to express any concerns you may have with your surgeon. Best,Dr. Mooty
Dear leticia_tapia,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 2 days post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
following an augmentation are usually more a reflection of what tissue you had to start with rather than an incompletely dissected pocket. That is in an area that is routinely freed from attachments and will fill as dictated by the implant so I suspect yours was a pre-existing issue. Regardless, if it persists, minimal fat grafting will correct that. Be patient and see how you heal and certainly keep our surgeon up to date of your concerns.
It appears the left side is not as indented as the right side. Sometimes its related to a much tighter pectoralis muscle which has not be relaxed or released during surgery. Another reason is the lateral pocket above the areola was not opened enough to so its tighter in that area. You will have to wait until the swelling relaxes to see if that is the case.
