Can a muscle become responsive to Botox again? 5 years since last treatment.

Question

After 7 years of 3 succesful injections per year into the outer part of one saggy eyebrow I became resistant to Botox. I then tried Bocouture which didn’t work either. It has been 5 years now. Is there a possibility that the muscle becomes responsive to Botox again I wonder. Thank you for your help

It's difficult to say if your resistance to Botox would have resolved after five years.  You may want to try a different neuromodulator such as Dysport or Juveau.  You can also consider the FDA approved neuromodulator Daxxify which lasts up to nine months.

A person can become resistant to both, Botox and Myobloc. This is extremely rare, but it does indeed occur. I don’t believe that this chain of events would have changed over the last five years, but you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying a small dose of either Botox, Myobloc or similar products. I am afraid we good more information to properly answer your question. However, most likely neurotoxin will not work for you. If the reason it stopped working was because your body became allergic to the neurotoxin and simply destroys it as it is injected, it is probably not work now for the same reason. Since you were trying to elevate a saggy eyebrow, it is also very possible that the reason the neurotoxin stopped working is that removal of the brow depressors isn't enough to allow the frontalis muscle's normal tension to elevate the brow. If this is the case, the problem will only be worse now.
