Post-Jelly Roll Box Eye Bag Nightmare (Photo)

Question

I'm 54 & have done Botox for 20 years in my crows feet/forehead. No problems. 4.5 months ago, I had 2 units of Dysport in the under eye ”jelly roll" for the first time. Within a day, I had big, brand-new eye bags, then the whole eye area became puffy. Nurse said it’s “not the Dysport.” RIGHT. I’ve read it could be lymph buildup or fat pad herniation, but I’m 4.5 months into this. Still big bags. Might it still wear off? What can I do if I stay puffy???

Neurotoxins generally do not lead to anything permanent. That said, Dysport may last longer than BTX, so I would sit tight for a couple of months, and you should be back at baseline. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Neuromodulators such as Dysport do not have a reversal agent.  The product effects gradually wear off around three to four months, although it's longer for some.  If you do not see improvement you can consider filler to help smooth out the under eye area.
