Do mild degenerative lumbar changes matter in relation to pain after submuscular buttock implants?

HelloGreat question. Though the procedure itself does not involve the lower back area, the weight of the implants can have mechanical effects on the lower back over a period of time. This can exacerbate pre existing lower back conditions. I have removed buttock implants on patients with complaints of lower back and lower extremity pain which have significantly improved after removal. Keep in mind that sitting and laying on your back will also change if you decided to place the implants. This may also affect your hip/leg dynamics. Very good and not uncommon question. I have had vast experience performing buttock implants in patients like you. Because the lumbar changes are within the spine and the implants are positioned within the buttock muscle, there is no long-term direct consequence to the spinal problems from having these implants inserted properly.

Please note that an extremely few number of board certified plastic surgeons specialize in buttock implants, so you may need to travel far and away from home to find this particular surgeon. Glad to help.
