Question

I want to slightly raise the radix and upper nasal bridge so the dip between my forehead and nose is smoother and the bridge starts higher. I do not want the nasal tip or lower bridge changed. Can this type of subtle change be achieved with hyaluronic-acid filler, or would rhinoplasty be required? Could filler make the nose look wider from the front?

filler can definitely be used to accomplish this goal. usually adding projection, such as this, will not make anything look wider; if anything it will make it look narrower.

Hello P,
Yes, you may have a hyaluronic acid filler injected in your nose to increase the radix.  I prefer Restylane Lyft for this treatment.  It actually may give your nose a narrower appearence. Yes—what you’re describing (a subtle increase in the radix and smoothing of the dip between the forehead and nasal bridge) can often be achieved with hyaluronic acid filler rather than surgery. In fact, this is one of the classic uses of “liquid rhinoplasty.” With small, precise amounts of filler placed along the upper bridge, we can elevate the starting point of the nose and create a smoother, more continuous profile—without altering the tip or lower bridge. Studies show this type of augmentation can produce about 1–2 mm of lift and improvement in the nasofrontal angle, with results lasting around 6–12 months.

That said, technique is everything. Filler only adds volume—it cannot reduce or reshape underlying bone—so it’s best for subtle contour changes like yours.

Regarding your concern about width: yes, filler can make the nose look wider from the front if too much is used or if it’s placed too superficially. However, when performed conservatively and placed deeply along the midline, an experienced injector can maintain a narrow, defined appearance.

If you’re looking for a small, reversible refinement, filler is typically a very good option.
