Snowboarding 6 weeks after?

Thanks for the question. After 4-6 month your operation area is totally healed and yes you can do skateboarding and also do other sport activities. I wish you all the best.

It all depends on your recovery and the extent of your surgery. 6.5 weeks may be too soon after a tummy tuck to go snowboarding, since the sport is quite physically intensive. I would recommend you speak with your surgeon to find out what their opinion is.

Hello,Thank you for your question. I would agree that snowboarding might be a bit too intense to dive back into. At 6 weeks I allow my patients to begin resuming all of their previous activities, but I do recommend they take it slow and listen to their body for comfort. It will be difficult to predict exactly how you will feel. I recommend that you talk this over with your surgeon,All the best

Most surgeons will allow patients to return to normal activities at 6 weeks following surgery. I do not think snowboarding at 6 weeks following an abdominoplasty would be wise though. Strenuous activities that require a lot of core strength should be avoided until at least 3 months. Best of luck. 

Thank you for your question. Everybody is different in their recovery time. Minimal exercise should be okay but I would not recommend snowboarding. The best person to advice you will be your specific surgeon as every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures.  We have restrictions on lifting for 2 months, by which time the internal scar is reaching its maximum tensile strength.  There is no reason for anything to breakdown at that point.  Normally, patients can return to light activities almost immediately after surgery, normal activities 2 weeks after surgery, and vigorous exercise 4 weeks after surgery.  We usually experience a slow steady improvement for 3 months or so after surgery.

I would strongly recommend postponing either your trip or your surgery. I would be skeptical of any surgeon who tells you it is OK to go snowboarding 6 weeks after a tummy tuck. 6 weeks is when I start allowing my patients to resume their normal activities. As a snowboarder, I can tell you that it is above and beyond what I would consider normal or even gym activities. Specifically the twisting at the hip and frequent bending of placing and removing bindings would compromise your results. Good luck.

Snowboarding is a super physical activity. Typically by 6 weeks postoperative patients are up to physical activity but snowboarding might be too big of a stress on your abs after TT only 6 weeks out. I think it might be best to have surgery after your trip.Happy Holidays!

Hello,Thank you for your question. Recovery times following a tummy tuck vary, but patients are generally able to return to work in one to two weeks, light exercise in three to four weeks, and full exercise in five to six weeks. You always want to easy back into any type of exercise. I would consult with your surgeon and see how you feel when time comes.
