I have a bald spot above my ear (around 2.5cm x 4.5cm) which has been there from birth. It is smooth skin where hair hasn’t grown. Can FUE be used to transplant hair to this region? Will it be as likely to take? Thanks

Answer: Can FUE be used to transplant hair to the side of head? Yes. Most likely if the areas are smooth it is because scar tissue has replaced the hair follicles. Transplanted hair will grow in scar tissue if it is not a thickened scar. It seems like this is not the case in your situation, so a transplant should be fine. Both FUE and the traditional FUT procedures should be effective.

Answer: FUE for side of head It is possible that it may work. I recommend a trial 25 grafts to see the results before going forward with more expensive options. It will take 6 to 9 months to know if growth in trial hair transplant is positive.
