If there is a minor discrepancy between the height/levels of both IMFs, would it be reasonable to surgically raise one IMF during a breast augmentation? Is the benefit of achieving a slight improvement in symmetry worth the potential risks of doing such a procedure during a BA? What might those potential risks be? Is this a common procedure to perform during a BA? Thanks so much in advance.
Answer: BA candidate Dear beaniebaby65, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You can get improvement in symmetry after breast augmentation. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: IMF level differences post breast augmentation Its much easier to lower the position of the IMF than raise it. In your case, I feel it would not be worth the effort to manipulate IMF levels. A smaller breast implant would likely help your cosmetic result, if you are considering a revision.

Answer: IMF not much of a problem but nipple-areola complex is very low When looking at your photograph, your IMF does not seem much of a problem as the fact that your nipple-areola complex is very low on the chest wall. I recommend a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, small implants can be placed. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Raising the IMF Good morning! Not an unreasonable request at all- I accomplish this with the Original Internal Bra, my strong permanent internal suturing technique, which can lift and stabilize the IMF at whatever level you choose. It is great for asymmetry, bottoming out, lateral displacement, etc. I first developed this technique 20 years ago, and today it is the most common revision procedure I perform, 5-6 times a week- it works and it lasts!
