Revision from 500cc to 800cc (Photo)

Question

I scheduled revision I would like to change my 500cc to bigger implants 800cc saline I had my first BA 5 y ago . I had 465 cc filled to 500cc saline. As of today I'm 5'6 and 154 lb and I don't feel like I had surgery. Everything is great but I wish my breast looks bigger. I was measured 15 cm. As much I was excited now I'm not sure what to do? And will my breasts get stretched out a lot? Will I get more complications because of bigger implants? Don't want to do any more surgeries in a future.

Good morning!
I perform over 200 XL augmentations a year- more than anyone else in the U.S. Although you will undoubtedly receive other answers condemning your decision, discouraging you, and telling you it's a terrible idea, when performed properly, by an experience surgeon, there is no higher complication rate and they last just as long as smaller sized implants. I say go for it if that's what you want!

Hello, thank you for your question. You can probably go bigger implants but additional risks are involved, excess skin stretch, bottoming out, excessive thinning of the overlying tissues, stretch marks, lateral implant malposition. The list of complications from very large implants goes on and on and on, I recommend you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

800 cc implants will weigh 3 1/2 lbs and it will possible that you will have neck, shoulder and back pain from implants this large. Also, the weight of the breast is only being held up by your skin envelope and the skin will stretch from the excess weight. You state that you don't want anymore surgeries in the future but this will most likely give you complications. I recommend you stay with the implants you have rather than risk complications from going with larger implants.

I think you have a lovely result as is. It’s your choice if you want to go larger. I rarely go above 500. Cc ‘s. That’s where they become heavy, they sag , and the skin thins out. I discourage patients from going that large

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

While you should be able to handle the larger size now, it will generally move you into a category that more work will need to be done later.  The skin will most likely have a harder time fighting gravity as you age and you shape/goals will generally change as well.

I do not recommend going bigger with such heavy large implants. That size will tend to thin your tissue and sag much more quickly. Go back and look at your before photos. You have just forgotten what you did look like.
