The key is that you are healthy. I require medical clearance for my patients that are over 65 so that I am working together with your primary care physician to be sure you are a good candidate for the elective procedure. Often times I perform breast lift (mastopexy) surgery under local anesthesia. i would recommend you check with your primary care physician to be sure she/he agrees you are a healthy candidate and please be sure your mammogram is up to date.
If you are of good health and can get clearance from your primary care doctor, then you should be appropriate for surgery.
Age does not preclude a patient from surgery. I have many patients in there seventies who elect to undergo surgery for the first time. As long as you are healthy, that is the most important thing. I hope this helps.
Thanks for your question. 77 could be a fine age for a breast lift. I performed a lift several months ago on a 73 year old and she did quite well and was very happy. She now plans on having a facelift. Patients of any age are routinely screened for health issues; if they are medically stable for surgery it's a go. Surgery is not for everyone but for those who chose to enhance their appearance, it can make a significant difference. For more information on this and similar topics, I recommend a plastic surgery book like "The Scoop On Breasts: A Plastic Surgeon Busts the Myths." Best of luck to you.
No way is that too old. If you are healthy enough to have anesthesia for an elective case, then you should see a board-certified plastic surgeon and get the ball rolling. This is quite a gentle operation both physiologically on the patient as well as postoperative healing. Good luck on your venture.
The most important thing is that you are healthy. For this reason, you would need a preop medical clearance to assess your health. Beyond that and a recent mammogram, most people in their 70's can have a breast lift.Hope this is helpful!
Thebreasts may lose their elasticity and firmness which can be caused by differentfactors such as pregnancy, massive weight loss, lactation and aging. Toreaffirm the breasts and restore the natural look your surgeon can perform amastopexy or breast lift. A breast liftrestores a firmer, perkier, and more aesthetically pleasing shape to saggingbreasts. This not only can improve a patient’s appearance by restoring heryouthful, feminine proportions, but also help bras and swimsuits fit morecomfortably and attractively. By removing excess, stretched out skin, reshapingthe breast tissue, and raising the nipple & areola into a more forwardposition, a cosmetic surgeon can create a more youthful breastcontour. Stretched, large areolae can also be reduced during breastlift surgery, creating an overall better proportioned, natural looking breast, Actuallythe perkiness on a person or another, depends on patients skin and breasttissue forthe first 3 to 4 months!
Age is not a contraindication for surgery as long as you are healthy. You are entitled to great look at any age. Go for it.
If you are healthy and desire a breast lift, then it is possible to undergo the surgery. Best of luck.
Assuming you are in good health, the age is not an issue. It can even be done under local anesthetic and mild sedation in some cases.
This is a frequent question. I believe becuase the final scar looks like the nipple and areola was cut off and moved, but in fact this is never done. The nipple and areola remain attached to the breast so that sensation and blood supply are maintained. The skin around it is adjusted by excising...
Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and...
HI Cdoublec,Thanks for your photos and questions. I am sorry about your complication. It certainly is nipple necrosis or just dead skin. Luckily it will heal. It may take some time. It will fall off on its own but the healing process sometimes goes faster when the dead tissue is removed. I would...
