If you are having a straight mastopexy without implants and your healing is normal and not complicated, I think you should be fine. If you had implants placed along with your breast lift, you might want to consider a longer waiting period, as a direct blow/fall on your chest could arguably affect your implant and the pocket that they are healing in. Of course check with your plastic surgeon and get clearance prior to any strenuous activity as he/she knows the details of your procedure.
You should be OK 5-6 weeks post this procedure, unless you have a complication such as an infection, shift of an implant, bleeding or any other problem. It is always best to check with your surgeon to get his/her final OK before returning to anyheavy athletic activity, including swimming.Hope this helps.
You should be fine to undergo a mastopexy and the go skiing one month later. Best of luck. Also best to check with your PS.
Most likely, given the interval time of about 5 weeks, you should be good to go. Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource given that he/she knows exactly what was done, how you are progressing, and exactly what you plan to do. Best wishes with your upcoming procedure.
If you were in my office, skiing a month following a uncomplicated mastopexy should be doable. If your implants are above the muscle, there should be no issues. If your implants are below the muscle, see what activities with your poles may cause your muscles to contract and consider avoid them if you're worried. But since I'm not your surgeon, its best to get the blessings of your surgeon so don't hesitate to ask him/her.
By six weeks after surgery you should be fine to do skiing and even sustain a fall without unduly injuring the breast lift result.
Thank you for your question. I'm glad you are thinking ahead about your recovery. Depending on the breast lift technique being performed, I usually recommend no heavy lifting or strenuous activity for 3-4 weeks. You need to give time for your incisions to healing. After four weeks, you should be good to go. But its best to ask your plastic surgeon about his/her specific recommendations. Best wishes!Dr. BasuHouston, TX
You are an excellent candidate for a new technique called The Ultimate Breast Lift. This technique avoids the ugly vertical scars of the lollipop or boat anchor shaped incisions. The breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to...
Concurrent liposuction does not have to be done with a mastopexy or breast reduction but is commonly a part of those procedures when excess fat resides in areas beyond the breast itself.
In most cases, liposuction and a breast lift can be combined. Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of breast lifts each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth...
