Follow up with your doctor about their aftercare protocol. You may be able to take Advil. Talk to your doctor. Best, Dr. Emer
Typically day 3 or 4 is the maximum swelling for patients after Halo treatment. It is best to sleep elevated if possible. Advil is ok to take day 3 to help with the headache. Follow up with your provider regularly to manage after care protocols. Hope the helps.
Advil is certainly safe and will likely make you more comfortable and may help the swelling a bit. On biopsy the Halo swelling (usually worst days 1-3) is actually a histamine reaction, so it responds best to a combination of benadryl and pepcid. It is unusual to have a headache from Halo. If this is a new or different type of headache for you, or if it doesn't go right away with the Advil, please reach out to your treating office immediately. You should also be in contact with them for any concerns, including your swelling.Best!
You may take advil for pain post Halo. If your swelling is severe, I would call your doctor, because Prednisone can dramatically reduce the swelling. I hope you feel better!Dr. Quenby Erickson, DO, FAAD, FACMS
Your headache is unfortunate, sorry to hear that. You can certainly take Advil for relief after halo.
Hey there, I'm so sorry to hear that. You should certainly be able to take advil as it will help with your pain as well as your swelling. Halo does not usually cause any open wounds or concern for bleeding, so Advil will not cause any issues with this. I hope that helps and that you feel better!
It can take several weeks for laser results to settle. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for a formal evaluation and after care recommendations. I recommend skin care with vitamin c, b5 hydrator, silicone based scar gels with growth factors and enzymatic washes with papaya ...
Of the options you listed the halo laser treatment would be best combined with continued use of topical retin-A. With a history of AKs and that type of discoloration you’d get even better results from a fractionated CO2 treatment. Good luck!
Great question! In my experience you are absolutely safe to get the treatment at this point. The treatments actually work wonderfully in combination with each other. Regular maintenance post HALO with BBL are essential for you overall skin health. Studies have shown that BBL has an effect on g...
Thank you for your question! I recommend following up with your provider for their specific post procedure protocols. In my clinic I advise letting your skin heal for at least 5 days before engaging in strenuous physical activity that may cause you to perspire. It is also important to protect...
Lasers shouldnt cause you to get white or discoloration. I suggest you see an expert and get on the right skin care and long term treatment treatment plan. in our practice patients do stronger lasers every 3-4 months and light lasers, peels, microneedling monthly. For facial rejuvenation I wo...
Thank you for your question! It is difficult to assess which treatment will be best for you without an in-person consultation. For fine lines I recommend either halo resurfacing or microneedling with radiofrequency (Morpheus8). Depending on the settings of the Halo laser, there is usually 5-7...
