Three years post surgery - Is it possible to have adhesions after otoplasty?
It has been 3 years since my surgery. By nature, I have extremely strong jaw muscles, and when I smile, my ears naturally move up and down. Only when I laugh very hard do I feel a slight pulling or tightening sensation, but nothing severe or painful. My surgeon used permanent sutures. Unfortunately, I started searching online and came across information suggesting that adhesions can cause a feeling of tightness. My ears are still relatively flexible—I can push them closer to my head, pull them away from my head, and they can move upward and then return to their natural position. I am wondering how common adhesions are after otoplasty, what symptoms they would typically cause, and what treatment options are available. I assume that massages would not be very helpful 3 years after surgery, even if adhesions were present. Are adhesions visible to the naked eye behind ear? If so, what do they typically look like?
