Is it a waste of money if i were to do coolsculpting after ultherapy?

We often combining both CoolSculpting CoolMini and Ultherapy to improve the appearance of the double chin. The CoolSculpting will reduce the fat and the Ultherapy will tighten the skin. Other options would include ThermiTight and Kybella. You would need to make sure you are a candidate for the CoolSculpting. Hope this helps.

We frequently couple CoolSculpting and Ulthera and it makes for excellent results. I don't believe this would be a waste because they are two different treatment modules. Ulthera builds new collagen and elastin, while CoolSculpting reduces stubborn fatty deposits. Together you’ll get fat reduction paired with skin tightening. Consult with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to determine if CoolSculpting or Kybella would be best for under your chin. 

Usually a combination is needed for contouring the chin. Coolsculpting can be used for the chin with or without thermage/ultherapy/exilis/kybella. However, VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Coolsculpting and skin tight treatments compliment each other and they work on different issues ie unwanted fat vs loose skin. So it is a good idea to do it but you need individual consultation and exam to make sure you are a candidate. Additionally I recommend that you wait several weeks betweek procedures. Thanks for your question about cool sculpting.Cool sculpting will work to treat the stubborn fat under the chin and neck and it works quite well.  I have also noticed some unexpected degree of skin retraction in the patients we treat in our office.  Ultherapy should provide some degree of skin tightening and would be complementary to the elimination of fat.  In my practice I have been more impressed with the effects of cool sculpting overall.  I would recommend that you try and allow yourself 6 weeks between the treatments.  Best Wishes

CoolSculpting and Ultherapy are complementary procedures.  CoolSculpting is best at reducing the fat under the skin and Ultherapy is best at tightening the skin.  The best results will come from tight skin over a reduced fat pad.  What varies from person to person is, the relative importance of each issue (loose skin/extra fat) to their neck.  Your provider should help you decide if one or both treatments will be necessary to get the results you want to achieve.

I don't think there is any interaction between these 2 technologies. You will get some double chin improvement with the Ulthera too. I wouldn't worry about the future of how you "might" get a double chin. If you have one now, then go ahead and treat it. Kybella is another option for this area but in my practice, Coolmini is more popular.

The results of Ulthera in the submental area tend to produce a tightened and lifted appearance.  Many of our patients who have been treated with Ulthera find that the appearance of a double chin is greatly diminished.  So, it might be wise to wait and see what results you get from Ultherapy before treating the area with CoolSculpting.  However, many of our patients do use both.  Generally, they do the Coolsculptig first, and then follow a month or so later with Ulthera if they feel the skin under the chin needs additional tightening.  Coolsculpting with the CoolMini applicator does a brilliant job to permanently remove the excess fat under the chin, and will not do anything to stretch out or undo the effects of Ulthera.
