Salivary glands such as the parotid and submandibular glands can be injected with botox to reduce their size. The effect is temporary and salivary production is reduced, so you may experience dry mouth.The injection does require an experienced provider- not all may be comfortable with doing it

Treatment of benign enlargement of the parotid and submandibular glands is important to help improve facial shape.  Botox is an excellent treatment option as it is a relatively painless and non-invasive procedure and results can last many months.  It is best to seek treatment through a very experienced physician as this is not a novice treatment.

Enlarged salivary glands may be due to salivary stones blocking the ducts. See an ENT doctor for proper evaluation and treatment.             jlr

Dear aumcqueen:Yes, Botox can reduce the size of your salivary and parotid glands BUT this maybe the wrong solution to your problem. Complications to injecting the salivary and parotid gland include but are not limited to dry mouth, duct stones, inflammation and swelling, reduction in the enzymes and acid/base balance of the food you eat in your mouth and therefore poor digestion.There is not enough information base on your query. Botox does not have any effect on these glands as Botox only works where a specific chemical is present
