I have been getting botox injections in my face for the last 3 years. I have never had a reaction. 48 hours ago I got about 20 units (two weeks shy of three months). This morning I woke up feeling itchy. There doesn't appear to be a rash. The itchy sensation is in different parts of my body. For example; it may feel itchy by my ear, then my shoulder, then back of my leg, then my hair line. I don't want to overact and go to the ER. Could this be because of the botox?
Answer: Itchy after Botox It could be coincidence on the timing between your injection and the symptoms. I would not necessarily consider this an allergic reaction unless it happens again. I would let your injector know in case they changed their protocol such as the use of a different topical anesthetic.

Answer: Itchy skin Hello,Given your history it does not seem that you are likely to have a reaction to Botox and what you describe does not sound like an adverse reaction To Botox. It is a good idea to share this with your injector and let them know if anything changes, but you may be experiencing a contact reaction to something applied to your skin or environmental allergies. All the best

Answer: Allergy to botox It is possible to have an allergy to botox or one of the byproducts of its manufacturing process. But that is very rare, so you have to consider other factors. Since you have tolerated injections for years without problem and have symptoms in areas other than the site of injection I would not expect botox to be the problem. Besides, we are getting killed with ragweed here in Madison so I would think it's other environmental allergens that are making your body act up. Try an over the counter antihistamine like zyrtec and see if your symptoms settle.

Answer: Can Botox cause random itchy sensations over the whole body? Thanks for your question. This is something you can bring up to your injector (or go see a dermatologist about). I would say I have never had this happen to any of my patients, nor have I heard anyone else describe this happening in their practice. My feeling is it is likely unrelated to your Botox.
