Ptosis reversal or correction options? (Photo)

Thank-you for your question. It is really early in the postoperative period to look for a reversal. The swelling subsides and the repair will look much better in a few weeks. If your cannot close your eyes when sleeping, it may be an indication to seek early treatment. Please discuss all your concerns with your Plastic surgeon and follow his/her advice All the best!

First you are early from this surgery. The swelling will take months to resolve, easily 2 more month, even longer. A lot of the harshness is due to this swelling which also makes the crease look high. I am concerned that the right upper eyelid is over corrected. Generally over correction does not resolve on its own and can require a revisional surgery to recess the eyelid position. If the unsatisfactory position persists 4 months after the surgery, a revision will likely be needed to make the eyes more satisfactory. At that time, other unsatisfactory issues can be assessed. In the mean time, the over corrected right eye is likely to be dry due to over exposure. The use of artificial tears and ointment for dry eye may be needed to maintain the health of the eye surface while you are healing. Eyelid massage is seldom that helpful. However, in this situation, massage of the over corrected eyelid might be helpful here. Discuss this with your surgeon or consider getting a second opinion.

Recovery after ptosis repair can take several weeks and sometimes even months. Certain medications, health conditions and even ethnicity factor in to the healing process. I find that Asian patients have swelling that can take longer to go away and at six weeks post op it does appear that you still have some swelling so I would give it some more time.
