Hi Dr Nov 2006 - McGann 245ml inserted Nov 2022 - Mentor teardrop 330ml replacement due to rupture on right side. My concern is the left side sits very high, is lopsided and has a light bulb shape compared to right side which is a natural tear drop shape. The 330ml are too big and I would also like to downsize back to the 245ml. Q.What could be wrong with left side to acheive symmetry like the McGhanns. 2.Do you think I need a breast lift to go down in size? My Mentor surgeon is not helping. MJ

Answer: Breast surgery outcome To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure, we need to see quality before and after pictures. If you’ve had more than one procedure that we should ideally have access to before and after pictures of each of your previous operations. If you don’t have proper before, and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. It’s also important to know exactly what was done during the second procedure. Did you have capsular contractions? If the only problem is your left implant writing high, then it shouldn’t be that difficult to lower the implant to some degree. If there was any degree of capsular contraction, then this needs to be taken into consideration. Your history is actually fairly complex in a single picture is insufficient to make a good assessment or give you quality recommendations. If you’re not getting the car you need schedule a proper second opinion in person consultations with other plastic surgeons in your community. For second opinion, consultations, come prepared bringing with you a complete set of proper before and after pictures and copies of your previous operative reports. These are part of your medical records and can be obtained from your previous providers by requesting them. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
