Scalp MicroPigmentation SMP risk is similar to the risk of having a tattoo. The ingredients are variable depending on the clinic.
ora01,At our office we only use natural organic inks for the most safe results. Because they are organic, they will be metabolized, so they do not last forever. No chemical artificial inks. The chemical dyes will undergo changes that cause unnatural color changes to blues and purples. Although they last longer, who wants them to?All the best,Bernardino A. Arocha, MD
Hi Ora.There are different types of pigments which can have different results. Metal-based pigments, often found in tattoo inks have to be mixed to prevent the blueish hue look that can occur in the future. They last longer but require the appropriate mixing of colors to balance off that blueish hue and to allow you to not have red pigment in 5 years (think of older tattooed eyebrows). There are mineral-based pigments that are natural but they tend to not last as long.
This all depends upon the pigments that are used. Some tattoo parlors use toxic metals in their pigments, ours is all natural organic pigments
If you want to know why your SMP turned blue, the first person to ask would be the clinic. Otherwise it would be almost impossible to tell since your clinic is the only source of treatment.
Shaving your head should not make your SMP fade or fade any faster. SMP is like a tattoo. It is under your skin.
Scalp Micropigmentation SMP can darken the bare scalp but if you lose more hair or shave your head it may not look even.
