Can gently relieving blackheads after rhino/septoplasty ruin results?

Question

Starting about 1 week after septo/rhinoplasty, using a sterilized plastic toothpick, I very gently applied the slightest amount of pressure to blackheads on my nasal bridge and nostrils to push out some large blackheads. I didn't push or manipulate my entire nose to the side, but now I am worried I have ruined things. Is the nose really that delicate after rhino/septo plasty?

Believe it or not, blackheads in thick oily nasal skin can cause nasal tip swelling to be persistent. As long as there was no pain removing the blackheads, I doubt you did any damage. Thank you for your question, and I wish you a happy recovery. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

I wouldn’t recommend pressing against a nose within the first week or two after rhinoplasty surgery.
After three or four weeks, it is unlikely you would be able to change the outcome by clearing your blackheads.
