Hi I’m considering doing rhinoplasty and BBl separately. Knowing that each needs a different post op laying position, which one do you recommend me to do first ? And how long after can I have a second procedure ? For insurance if I do rhinoplasty I need to lay upright , how many months after is it safe to bbl which requires me to be on my stomach at all times ?

Answer: Having different procedures Each provider will have their own view in regards to postoperative protocols. Some plastic surgeons don’t want you to lay on your back for months after BBL and other providers don’t care what you do. It’s probably not a good idea to be put in a face down position after a rhinoplasty procedure within the first 3 to 4 weeks. By six weeks things should be relatively well healed. Some providers may want you to wait months. I suggest focusing on provider selection and getting quality assessment regarding your candidacy for the procedures in the first place. During consultations you can ask each provider what their thoughts are. Best, Matt Hagstrom, MD
