I used to have an account here, but then i forgot how the email and password went. It really can take a toll on my confidence, so much. Also, my nose has been hit so there is a little bump on the left side, and although it does not change my straight facial look much it changes a little bit my left facial profile opposed to the right one.
Answer: Chin surgery Hello and thank you for your question. An in-person consultation is needed to fully address your question. However, based on your photograph, you may benefit from a conservative rhinoplasty and a chin augmentation. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thanks for sending images. Facial profile analysis is part of an evaluation for both chin augmentation as well as rhinoplasty. Although impossible to make an exact diagnosis with just images, it does appear you have either a hypoplastic mentum or retrognathia as well as some nasal deformities. The good news is that all of these are correctable with either orthognathic surgery or facial plastic surgery.I would recommend consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon for an evaluation and discussion of options. If orthognathic surgery is required, this is typically performed by an oral surgeon.Best of luck!

Answer: Is this retrognathia? Thank you for your question. From the pictures that you have posted, you do have a small chin, better known as microgenia. If you consulted with me, I would suggest you undergo a genioplasty, as looking at your pictures, you would need a 6mm to 8mm advancement, with a possible drop of the sliding segment by 3mm to balance out the lower third of your face with the upper two thirds.I would stay away from a chin implant as your would need a significantly large implant to achieve facial harmony and balance.Hope that helps.

Answer: Weak chin From the photos that you submitted, it does appear that you have a weak chin. A chin implant would bring the lower third of your face forward and make it more proportionate. I would schedule a consultation with a facial plastic surgeon to better understand the implant that suits your face and get a thorough evaluation. Best of luck.
