I'm getting a rhinoplasty during my dance team's one summer month break. Will it be safe to dance after a month? I'm really nervous, because my dance team is VERY INTENSE. Our routines are full of jumping, head whipping, fast/sharp movement, etc. I want to be able to dance without worrying about ruining my nose :(

Answer: Trauma after Rhinoplasty Routine dance moves should not be a problem at four weeks after your surgery. However, your nose may be more susceptible to trauma, both the bones and cartilage for 6-8 weeks after your surgery. You can wear a protective nasal mask for awhile after your surgery to avoid any injury. You can find those on Amazon. Good luck.

Answer: Dancing after rhinoplasty At 1 month after rhinoplasty majority of the healing of nasal bones has happened and they are quite strong. The concern is not as much excessive dancing and exercise but a direct hit on the nose during the dense rehearsals. As long as you are careful you should be fine.RegardsDr. J
