Part of HA in upper lip won’t dissolve with hyaluronidase. (Photos)

I’ve got my lips done with HA filler. It was to thick and my lips looked so unnatural. It was Juvederm Volift. After that, my lips were dissolved with Hyaluronidase except one part that can not be dissolve. I don’t know why is that? Is there any chance that this is some kind of scar tissue, or do I need more treatmans with hyaluronidase, or maybe surgical excision? Pls help, I am so sad.

Pain can vary with injections. If you're concerned, I recommend following up with your injector. However, hyaluronidase will not negatively impact your natural tissue. Keep in mind, it may take a series of treatments to dissolve filler. Best, Dr. Emer

I have been using hyaluronidase for over 20 years and have not seen any problems if it is done correctly. If you do not like the filler placed in this area, it is very simple to remove it, as long as the filler was a hyaluronic acid dermal filler.

I suppose if you inject enough hyaluronidase to dissolve HA following a traumatic experience the material can dissolve your own HA.  It should not dissolve any of your other tissues.  I hope that's helpful to you. Best from Boston, Dr. Onir
