Are there different types of hyaluronidase?

Hi Doctors :) I’m wondering if there are different types of Hyaluronidase and if so what are the names and what are they made from ? My doctor who injected me simply says it’s just “Hyaluronidase “ and will not tell me if it was mixed or diluted! I find this to be very unprofessional. I’m also wondering how long it stays in your system for ? I was told it stays for 5 months , is this true ? Thank you for your time :)

There are different types, but it is made from the same compound. Keep in mind, it can take a series of treatments with hyaluronidase to dissolve filler. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hyaluronidase is the enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. Although there are different types of hyaluronidase, generically its the same compound. Commercially it is available as Vitrase or Hyalase. There are different unit amounts per preparation. An experienced injector will be able to judge how much of hyaluronidase should be injected depending on the condition. It usually starts working right away.
