I had a rhinoplasty with rib 2 yrs ago it's fake looking, too small, stiff & i have asymmetrical nostrils. i asked for just hump removal w preservation & ended up getting donor rib which i wasn't aware is used in primary. it's affected my mental health A LOT. i am looking into revision but before i set up consults i wanted to know would i be able to remove the rib and use septal cartilage or something softer like a normal nose? what needs to be done to make it more bulbous?

This is a big problem i see with open rhinoplasty, especially when rib grafts are used.  It is very unusual to need rib cartilage for a primary rhinoplasty.  It is possible that some of the grafts could be removed to help soften the nose.  It totally depends on what types of grafts were used and what other maneuvers were performed.

Good Morning! If donor rib was used, it can certainly be removed as long as the structure of the nose underneath will be stable. If no septal cartilage was taken, then that would be the first choice to use. A lot will depend on what the prior surgeon used in terms of cartilage. If the septal cartilage has been removed, your own rib is a great choice. Ear cartilage is soft but tends to curve and provides little in terms of lasting support. I would suggest seeking consultation with a facial plastic surgeon proficient in revision rhinoplasty to see what safe options exist. Hope this helps you out!
