Can I still continue boxing and MMA after recovering from a Facial Fat Transfer?

Im a martial artist who wants to get a fat transfer procedure because of my slightly reseeded chin making my mouth stick out. Im planning on getting fat transfer to my chin, tear throughs and the nasobial area/cheeks. I want to know if i can still take hits to the face and train martial arts after i recover from the proceedure. Would the fat change shape or get deformed from hits?

Fat can be killed devascularized from physical trauma.  Grafted fat is probably slightly more sensitive to being destroyed with physical force than native fat because it will not have the connective tissue structure around it that native fat has.

Still, it takes a pretty significant amount of force to create fat necrosis.

The grafted fat will be most sensitive early after the procedure.

Fat transfer is not a particularly good way to augment the mandible.

It is also fickle and unpredictable in the tear trough.

Fillers and implants may offer better solutions.

Each provider will have their own view on this so go out and get some consult and learn firsthand what each provider has to say.

By three months the fat should be incorporated well. I would avoid contact for that long. Go over with your surgeon prior.
