I posted a previous question asking if my scars were keloids and I know a doctor responded and said it looks like I'm bottoming out so I wanted to ask others. I have had two Breast Augmentations done in the last year and they cut in the same place. Does it look I'm bottoming out? I have no pain.
Answer: Bottoming Out Hello, Yes, it appears one has dropped a little bit, but it is technically well positioned relative to your nipple and soft tissue envelope. Overall, you have a great result and you may want to sit tight, relax, and return to normal life for a while. If you remain stable over the next year, than you really got to ask yourself if operation number three would be worth it. I don't think so. Obviously, if things get worse, then your hand is forced and another trip back to the operating room is necessary. I wish the best for you!

Answer: No bottoming out Hi Julyyyy,Based on your photos, it appears that your scar has shifted up on to the breast skin, but the implants still appear to be centered under the nipple. On the side profile, you can see the nipple points straight forward, which is not consistent with bottoming out. Sky gazing nipples, meaning they point up on the implant, is one of the signs of bottoming out. Seeing breast or implant below your scar is not bottoming out and in fact an expected outcome in small breasted patients, looking for large augmentation. Given the choice for scar placement, some surgeons will try to put the scar lower than your current inframammary fold, anticipating that the skin on the chest will be recruited on to the breast. Overall, you have an excellent outcome with near ideal scar placement.Hope that helps.Best,Dr. B
